Lockheed Martin outlines intelligence-driven cyber defence – IHS Jane’s 360

The constantly changing and increasingly sophisticated cyber threat landscape requires a proactive approach to defending against attacks, according to Dr Grigorios Koutsogiannis, regional business development director for the Middle East & Africa at Lockheed Martin.

“Cyber defences need to extend beyond our networks,” Koutsogiannis said, adding that a proactive approach is now required to counter threats, which can come from well-resourced and trained adversaries who are able to conduct long-duration attacks.

Lockheed Martin has formulated what Koutsogiannis described as an “intelligence-driven” methodology, with a focus on the threat, this, he added, extends to actively and passively monitoring cyber activities, as waiting for attacks to take place is no longer effective.
